Pōhinahina is a Hawaiian plant, and its traditional uses belong to Hawaiian practice.
We tend it as students, not teachers. The same species grows across the Pacific and Asia. In Chinese medicine its fruit is Man Jing Zi, long used for the head and eyes. We burn the leaf for its scent: bright, clearing, a little peppery. Nothing here is gathered from wild coastal stands.
